Under Armour Branding and Apparel Collection
For my internship project at Under Armour, I had the opportunity to design an apparel collection around American soccer player Kelley O’Hara, who is a FIFA Women’s World Cup champion and an Olympic gold medalist. Working under the guidance of the Graphic Design team, I created a unique graphic package inspired by Kelley, including a logo, color palette, graphic toolkit, and an apparel collection.
ROLE: Graphic design, apparel graphics design, photo retouching
DESIGN TOOLS: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator
Mood Board
Kelley O’Hara’s initials are K and O, and her jersey number is 5; those are the elements that I worked with for my logo.
The white and gray come from the ball, the greens come from the pitch, and the peach represents Kelley’s hometown, Peachtree City, Georgia.
I was inspired by asymmetry, color blocking, logo outlining and cropping, stripes and grids. These design qualities best reflected Under Armour as a company, and Kelley as an athlete.
